Welcome to the University of Northern Colorado Canvas student orientation. Throughout these modules, you will discover valuable information about Canvas enabling you to effectively navigate your courses and collaborate with both peers and instructors. Canvas serves as a versatile tool facilitating interaction with course materials, classmates, and educators in ways that greatly enhance your learning experience. After successfully completing this orientation, you will be able to:

  • Understand the system requirements for optimal use of Canvas.
  • Navigate through your courses and the Canvas interface.
  • Configure your profile and notification settings to suit your preferences.
  • Locate essential course materials and tools, such as your syllabus and calendar.
  • Identify available Canvas support resources, both from UNC and within the Canvas Community.
  • Communicate with professors and fellow students via the Canvas platform.
  • Effectively utilize Canvas tools such as Discussions, Assignments, and Quizzes.
  • Access, review, and provide feedback on assignments.
  • Keep track of your grades and delve into grade details for a comprehensive overview.
