Welcome to the University of Northern Colorado Canvas Student Orientation. In these modules you will find information about Canvas that will help you navigate and interact in your courses and with your colleagues when using Canvas. Canvas is a tool you can use to engage with your course content, your peers, and your instructors in meaningful ways so that you get the most out of your courses. At the end of this course is an additional module devoted especially to online learning.

What will you learn?

After completing this orientation you will be able to:
- Identify system requirements for using Canvas
- Navigate your courses
- Set your profile and notification settings
- Communicate with your professors and fellow students using Canvas
- Use Canvas tools (Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes, etc.)
- Identify canvas support services from UNC and in the Canvas Community.
- Find and edit "What-If Grades" in the Canvas grade book
- View and provide assignment feedback
When you have successfully completed the bonus "Introduction to Online Learning" module, you will be able to:
- Define online learning
- Distinguish online learning myths and facts
- Describe what students can expect from their experience
- Identify the best practices for your online education
- Design a suitable working environment and be able to plan your time for success in an online setting.
