Zoom Meetings

LEARNING TOOLSZoom Meetings

Zoom is a live online meeting platform accessible to all students through your login credentials. It's also seamlessly integrated into Canvas, allowing instructors to host virtual class meetings. If your instructor utilizes these integrations, the meetings can even show up on your Canvas calendar. Additionally, you can leverage your personal Zoom account to initiate collaborative sessions with your fellow classmates. As a student, you can use your UNC credentials to host 40-minute meetings.

Using Zoom at UNC

Zoom LogoZoom allows you to attend formal class meetings that are arranged by your instructor. It also allows you to set up and host your own meetings. You and your classmates can collaborate, study, and even socialize using Zoom.

Zoom features include the ability to share your screen, share documents, chat, work in breakout rooms, use virtual backgrounds, and record your meetings. If you record your meeting, you will be prompted to download the mp4 recording to your computer. If your instructor asks for a recording in an assignment, you can upload this mp4 into the assignment prompt.

If you want to schedule your own Zoom sessions, you can access your student account using your bear login. Your account allows you up to 40 minutes per session with unlimited sessions.
