    When you're using an online learning system for teaching, your profile is an extension of your instructor presence in the course. Keeping your profile current and updating your user settings is part of maintaining and promoting your instructor presence.

    How to Customize your Canvas Profile

    Customize your profile image, pronouns, biography and links in your Canvas account. To do that, select Account at the top of your Global Navigation, select Profile, then select Edit Profile.

    Profile Image/Account Name/Pronouns

    Profile Image (1): Post a photo that best represents you by selecting the pencil icon and either upload a photo, take a picture with your computer's camera, or add a Gravatar avatar.

    Account Name (2): Your account name will be the same one listed with UNC. If you need to change your account name, contact the Office of the Registrar. 

    Pronouns (3): Add your preferred pronouns to your Canvas profile through your URSA account. They will be displayed here.

    Biography and Links

    Add a brief biography and link to any of your previous work (academic blogs, publications, interviews, etc.). This will give your students and colleagues an opportunity to learn more about you and your teaching and/or intellectual history.

    The biography and links section is surrounded by a UNC-Persimmon border.
