Orientation: Posting in ASL on Canvas
Posting in ASL
If you've engaged in online discussions or used online learning platforms like Blackboard or Moodle, you'll find participating in our discussion board somewhat familiar. However, we kindly ask that all responses be submitted in ASL for this course. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, you can post in either one of two ways. Both options can easily be done by following the guidance provided below.
Option #1
Post directly on the discussion board via the recording options provided in Canvas. To do this, review the guidance on how to record a video directly on a Canvas discussion board. Links to an external site.
Option #2
Create a video on your device, upload it to YouTube, and post the link or embedded code into the discussion board. To do this follow the How to upload your video to YouTube step-by-step Links to an external site. and How to embed your YouTube video in Canvas Links to an external site. tutorials.
NOTE: Please do not upload video files directly into discussion boards. This requires your colleagues to download the video to their computer versus viewing your response directly on Canvas. This downloading takes additional time and memory on other computers.
